Were “the chosen people” picked for their virtues or vices?

More than two thousand years ago, the frenzied multitude rejected Jesus because they thought he was going to rob them of their “chosen people” status and equate them with the rest of mankind. Today, 2000 years later, under the same chosen people rubric, Palestinian villagers, Christians and Muslims alike, are still being chased, assaulted, and hunted down “because they don’t belong”.

The recent Vatican synod on the deteriorating situation in Palestine-Israel did the right thing by pointing out that Israel ought to discontinue the use of the controversial concept of “the chosen people” to torment and dispossess the Palestinians. Perhaps the Roman Catholic hierarchy has woken up to the fact that tens of thousands of Palestinian Arab Christians are forced to leave their ancestral homeland as a result of the brutality and oppression stemming from the ongoing Israeli occupation.

In its conclusions and recommendations, the synod repudiated the fact that Israel never stops misusing the Bible to justify oppressive and repressive policies against virtually helpless Palestinians. It also explained that for purely moral reasons, Christians around the world cannot speak of “the promised land” as an exclusive right for a privileged Jewish people; in Christian beliefs, it is in Christ that all men and women of all countries and races become the chosen people.

On the face of it, the latest good news from Rome represents a step towards the reassertion of moral Christianity at the expense of Zionist (or “Zionised”) Christianity. The formulation of a western Christian, especially Roman Catholic, stance on the plight of the Palestinians at the hands of the Zionists is welcome. However, it probably has more to do with reasserting Christianity’s moral identity than with making any serious effort to challenge the Israeli regime, which under Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing leadership is drifting through unbridled jingoism towards fascism.

None the less, the Vatican should be commended for demonstrating that political Zionism, which has enslaved nations and governments, will not find Christianity such easy prey. Not only that, but it is showing that the Roman Catholic Church, at least, is not about to morph into a political pawn in the service of the Israeli state’s territorial ambitions. It is reassuring that the Vatican appears not to be ready to align itself with Israel’s unrelenting dehumanisation of and brutality against Palestinians, Muslims and Christians alike, whose only crime is that they are not part of a “holy tribe”.

Even so, it is true to say that Zionism has made much progress in turning erstwhile good-hearted Christians into fanatical Zionists, ready to support human rights violations by right-wing Jewish settlers and their supporters in Israeli society. So-called Christian Zionists seem to have lost any real link to genuine Christianity and the message of Jesus in their rush to support Zionist Israel and its policies which any human being with any degree of honesty would find morally repugnant and criminally unacceptable. Indeed, some supposedly Christian leaders give enthusiastic support to decidedly un-Christian acts by Israel, such as extrajudicial killings, ethnic cleansing and systematic persecution, in order to create space in the Holy Land for Jewish immigrants; the Nazis had a similar policy, called lebensraum, intended to provide living space for “ethnic Germans”.

In the face of a powerful Israel lobby, such Christian leaders of Western states make do with half-hearted appeals for “balance” and “restraint” when they know as much as anyone that the situation in the Israel-Palestine conflict is far from a conflict between equals. There worthless statements have failed to save even one Palestinian farmer’s olive grove from being destroyed by Israeli settlers. Or one Palestinian family’s home from being bulldozed and the family expelled.

It is true that some courageous Christians have stood up for human rights and the rule of international law and faced the opprobrium of their fellows in the process. But their voices are usually lost in the increasing Israeli hasbara (propaganda) which turns black into white and the Big Lie of Zionism into accepted truth.

It is imperative that we encourage Christians to show their commitment to true Christian values and morality by denouncing Israel’s illegal policies in the West Bank and the growing phenomenon of using biblical and Talmudic injunctions to dehumanize Gentiles. The remarks by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef that the raison d’être of Gentiles is to serve Jews, was ignored by the US media; it took a reader of the New York Times to point this out. Thus the Zionists’ “servants” across North America were spared from having to respond in a way which might have been unfavourable to Israel. Rabbi Yosef is the spiritual head of the Shas Party, one of Netanyahu’s far-right coalition partners.

When Moses received the Torah on Mount Sinai, he received the Ten Commandments, described as a light upon humanity. The Neturei Karta Movement of Orthodox Jews are anti-Zionist: “One of the basics of Judaism is that we are a people in exile due to Divine decree. Accordingly, we are opposed to the ideology of Zionism, a recent innovation, which seeks to force the end of exile. Our banishment from the Holy Land will end miraculously at a time when all mankind will unite in the brotherly service of the Creator. In addition to condemning the central heresy of Zionism, we also reject its policy of aggression against all peoples. Today this cruelty manifests itself primarily in the brutal treatment of the Palestinian people. We proclaim that this inhuman policy is in violation of the Torah.”

Unfortunately, Zionism has not only inflicted death and destruction on Palestinians it has also killed the sense of morality and joint humanity among Israelis so that they condone the killings, land confiscation and lies carried out in their name by their government. Orthodox Jewry is clear: “[Zionism's] essential goal was and is to change the nature of the Jewish people from that of a religious entity to a political movement. From Zionism’s inception the spiritual leaders of the Jewish people stood in staunch opposition to it.” If only religious Christians around the world would take the time to reflect on this message, their desire to support Israel may be diminished. Perhaps the Vatican already has.

I wouldn’t get too excited because the Vatican threw a crumb to the Palestinians. It’s never followed up by any actions or direct condemnation of the genocide and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people but they will condemn their own for questioning the myth of the 6 million. Christianity in general is morally bankrupt and so one cannot expect moral leadership from it.

Please, do not trust those Catholic hypocrites! This is just another distraction!

Don’t you remember why the Vatican signed a Pact with Adolph Hitler? This complicity caused the death of more than 50 million people because the Vatican BLESSED that bloody Zionist war and even procured passports to top Nazis to flee Germany, including Jewish NAZIS who were working on the bomb!

Today, Palestinians (Muslims and Christians) have been murdered, expelled from their homes, humiliated, persecuted, tortured, maimed, ethnically cleansed, starved to death, contaminated, all with Vatican complicity and the complicity of the majority of Catholics around the world not forgetting the Christian Zionists (Baptists…) of the USA and elsewhere!

The bible is used to justify almost all of the horrors comminted in the world has been been for many hundreds of years. One would think in this age of instant communication and technology an anachronism such as the (Holy) Bible would no longer be taken seriously. Unfortunately that is not the case. Millions of people, including well educated individuals, some of whom are respected scientists and professors of all subjects, still take the Bible literally literally. It dumbfounds me.

1380 is the earliest version of the New Testament in English from the Latin Vulgate Edition and in it Jesus is mentioned as One of the “iewes.” That is, the 14th century middle English version of the Latin “Iudaeus” pronounced “hew-weeze,” in the plural, and “iewe” pronounced “hew-wee” in the singular.
It was not until the middle of the 17th century that the use of “J” as an initial found common usage in English books. As such, all writers before this time were wholly ignorant of the letter “J.” It begs the question where did the word Jew come from?

  7. #7 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 1:59 am

In the Tyndale Edition of the New Testament published in 1525 Jesus was likewise described as One of the “Iewes.” Likewise, in the Cranmer Edition Jesus was again described as One of the “Iewes.”; in the Geneva Edition Jesus was also described as One of the “Iewes.” So it seems that until the letter “J” came along Jews were not in the picture. Jesus was not known until the letter “j” as the “King of the Jews”. A modern invention so it would seem. A product of the “age of enlightenment” “Would a rose smell as sweet by any other name”. Shakespeare never had a “j” for the use of. The letter J appears to have a lot to answer for. Not something they dealt with on ‘Sesame Street’.

When the Jews told Jesus that they are the seed of Abraham, Jesus responded, “If you were the seed of Abraham, you would love me”. “You have no love for me, instead you want to murder me”. You are like your father the devil”. “He was a murderer in the beginning, and you are also a murderer like your father the devil”.

A modern misconception is that “the Jews” are direct descendants of Jacob and so the people of Israel, the true, biblical Israelites. However, by the time of Jesus, because of wars, enslavement, migrations and miscegenation, a Jew may or may not have descended from Jacob. He could have been descended from a number of patriarchs, especially Esau, since Edomites were then dominant in the racial mix. However, although a disparate racial mix the Jews by this time all recognised Pharisaism as their personal and state religion and NOT the Law of Moses. And so, a point of uttermost importance: someone who is called a “Jew” in the Bible is not necessarily a member of the tribe of Judah, a true Israelite, or even a Semite nor are they an essential part of the Yahweh’s Chosen People, a follower of Moses and the prophets. In the Bible, a Jew is simply a resident of Judaea …. he is simply a Judaean

  10. #10 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 2:06 am

Like I mentioned before the word “Jew” is a relatively modern invention used, seemingly indiscriminately and interchangeably, by 18th century redactors to describe Israelites, Judahites and Judaeans. It first appeared in eighteenth century Bible in an episode that describes a war between Israel and Judah: It explains that when Rezin, king of Syria and Pekah, king of Israel went to war with wicked Ahaz, king of Judah. The Syrians “drave the Jews from Elath” who were in possession of it Hre is the first time that the inhabitants of the kingdom of Judah are called “Jews” when more properly they should be called Judahites. However, the point here is this: the very first time the word “Jew” is found in the modern Bible, they are at war with Israel

  11. #11 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 2:10 am

“Strictly speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a “Jew” or to call a contemporary Jew an “Israelite” or a “Hebrew.” The first Hebrews may not have been Jews at all,” The Jewish Almanac (1980)

Many people suffer under the misapprehension that Jesus was a “Jew,” moreover, that he was “King of the Jews.” Thus, by inference, that the “Jews” were the “Chosen People” of the (Holy) Bible and so ancient possessors and modern inheritors of the Bible Covenants gifted by Yahweh to their forebears Abraham, Jacob and Judah. However, this is not the case. In fact, during Christ’s Mission and Passion no such people existed called “Jews” nor indeed did the word “Jew.” In short: Jesus was NOT a “Jew” nor was he “King of the Jews
    Not many people know that.

  12. #12 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 2:13 am

The etymology of the word “Jew” is quite clear. Although “Jew” is a modern conception its roots lie in the 3rd and 4th centuries AD. That is, the modern English word “Jew” is the 18th century contraction and corruption of the 4th century Latin “Iudaeus” found in St. Jerome’s Vulgate Edition and derived from the Greek word “Ioudaios.” The evolution of this can easily be seen in the extant manuscripts from the 4th century to the 18th century, which illustrate not only the origin of the word “Jew” found in the Latin word “Iudaeus” but also its current use in the English language.

  13. #13 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 2:15 am

When the English language version of the Rheims (Douai) New Testament was first printed in 1582 the word “Jew” did NOT appear in it. Similarly the King James Authorized translation of the New Testament into English (begun in 1604) and first published in 1611, the word “Jew” did NOT appear. The word “Jew” first appeared in both these well known editions in their 18th century revised versions.

  14. #14 by sean on November 1, 2010 - 2:19 am

And so, the new readers of these 18th century editions were introduced to a new word both to them and the English language, the word “Jew.” For, these readers did not know the history of the origin of the English word “Jew” and accepted it as the legitimate modern form of the ancient Greek “Ioudaios” and the Latin “Iudaeus.” Thus, these new readers did not understand or care to question the meaning and use of the word “Jew” since it was a new English word to them. Consequently, the use of the word “Jew” was not only stabilised by these 18th century editions but also its anachronistic application to people and places fully established.
I think I’ve about covered all the bases but the fact remains that the bible has long been used as the ultimate propaganda device and given that God loves us all, he has a funny way of showing it. It begs the question, if an all knowing all mighty creator wanted a “chosen people” why bother with the rest of us.

Keeping with the letter “J” the protagonist of my commentry, there are 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet and not now nor was there ever an equivalent letter “J”; nor is there any Hebrew letter that carries even an approximate sound of the consonant letter “J.” Furthermore, there is not a letter “J” in the Greek alphabet. In fact, although the letter “J” is firmly established as the tenth letter and seventh consonant in the English alphabet it is a recent addition to the English script. It was inserted in the alphabet after “I,” from which it was developed and credited to Petrus Ramus (1515-1572) who first distinguish “I” and “J” as representing separate sounds. John 19:19 refers to the inscription Pontius Pilate had posted over Jesus’ cross that in the Greek is “Ieous Nazoraios Basilius Ioudaios,” which in modern Bibles is rendered: “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews” In the fourth century, Jerome translated the Bible from the Greek into Latin and his treatment of this verse in the Latin Vulgate was: “Iesus Nazerenus Rex Iudaeorum.” The acronym of this verse used on Catholic statues, icons and imagery is “INRI”

    So now you know.

We can attribute to John Wycliffe 1324-1384 and others during the Great Reformation, how the revealed Word of God was passed on, albeit in the original languages of Hebrew and Greek, and transmitted into the modern world via Latin from which it was released into common possession by its eventual translation by Wycliffe into the English language. This is deep stuff and we have to dig deep.

Jews claim to follow to religion of Judaism from which, we are led to believe they derive their name. Judaism and its seeming antithesis, Pharisaism, was to add to the confusion, and have since, through the auspices of the Talmud, become the same thing. This man-centred religion was the religion vehemently condemned by Christ since it is the antithesis of the Mosaic Law and the prophets and makes the Word of God of no effect (Matt. 15:1-9). These God fearing Jews, do not believe in the almighty, which is rich given they are using his supposed word to get their own way in this world. It is the prophecies of the Bible that they use as there justification for the crimes against humanity they commit on a daily basis aided and abetted by the Judea/Christians of the American mainstream. What a diabolical con and what a incredible nonsense that countless millions have fallen for. The contradictions are legion and one only has to do as I have done and do a spot of study to get to the bottom of things. No big deal. You have been conned by an ancient con man. Snap out of it.

Were “the chosen people” picked for their virtues or vices?

To that question, read the remarkable answers of Master “sean”!

“So now you know.” (Master “sean”)

Not only did I already know this since my youth Catechism days, but this is a common disease the West has been suffering from since the time of the pagan Constantine laid down the foundations of what Western Christianity should and should not be in the year 325 C.E. at the Pagan Council of Nicea where Jesus was made both GOD and MAN, a Pagan fabrication inspired by some early idolatrous Christians who made Jesus into GOD!

To this day, most Christians refuse to admit that Christ was a Palestinian (“Judean”) or a “Semite”, and that he was not a 6-7 foot tall white blue eyed and blond hair Greek Gentile!

Because Pagan Rome had outlawed all “Semitic” languages in the Christian religion, most names were translated (or kept) into Greek and Latin (Vulgate). So, this messed up the mind and the faith of Western and Westernised Christians to such an extent that they HATE ANYTHING “SEMITIC”! One simple example is the words AL LAH (ELAH, ILAH, ILAHI). Because of their racist and fanatical upbringing, they refuse to acknowledge that this was THE GOD Jesus prayed to! Even if on the cross (according to one version) he screamed at the top of his voice ILAHI, who really cares?

“None the less, the Vatican should be commended…” (Khaled Ameyreh)

The Vatican should not be commended for anything at all! Find out for yourselves why?

Khaled Ameyreh article was okay but still I would not go so far as saying now…”the latest good news from Rome is a step towards the reassertion of moral christianity. That christian Zionist seem to have lost any real link to genuine christianity and the message to Jesus.” Why has this been so long to get religious institutions to come forward and admit there is something terribly wrong. True also that the media has ignored truth. Daniel in the old testement seems to have have the same problem trying to get through and Daniel was told that the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood and blocked his prayers. I believe America has a power demon prince also blocking from many the truth of what is going on.(Daniel 10:13) Ofcourse this “chosen people” staus is the reason for deception today.
I also know about this pact that the Vatican and Hitler had and we are even more corrupt since we brought these Nazis over here after WWII with “Project Paperclip.”
Ezra brought the Jews and Israels under as one people as Manasseh and Ephraim were brought under as one tribe. Isaiah 9:21 and Genesis 48:5.
John 19:21; “Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.”
Stay with the KJV bible and I don’t think you’ll have the confusion you see out there today. Jeremish 23:29-32; “I am against the prophets that steal my words..and cause my people to err by their lies.”

A insubstantial slap on the wrist from his Satanic Majesty the Pope. They play for the populace only, their roles are defined already and not about to change much yet. However, it does give the chattel/cattle a small bone to chew on. It means absolutely nothing as we all know but it makes some folks feel good with hope, or pleasure thinking “Ah the Vatican knows what goes on!”

The Vatican always knows what is going on, everywhere. The last few popes have certainly not been men of God, so who knows exactly what the game is this time. The scary part is, the Jesuit Army is just as vile as MOSSAD. In fact, it seems to me that there is a good chance Mossad took a lot of lessons from the Jesuits’ previous accomplishments. When you read their vows and so on, there are major differences, but they cover the same scope of activities.

And no, that is not just idle rambling. Just tossing it out for folks to ruminate on.

So don’t count on too much. Nice window dressing though. Keeps them entertained and busy thinking about distractions….

OOOPs. I believe their role for the end times was chosen for them when they crucified Christ. Those Sanhedrin knew what they were up to … or not.

Those who are above all, including the Rothschilds, have no long term interest in any human creature or race. The Rothschilds could care less as well, they are satanists to the core, all are on the planet to be used towards their ultimate goal of world domination. However, the Jewish people have various characteristics that made them easiest to manipulate as the plan moved along. This people are aggressive, bloodthirsty, amoral, accumulative, scheming and self isolating.

We all know how Palestine was incrementally invaded by the Zionists in the mid 1800’s. It seems the Jews who never left Palestine were a different cut from the Jews of Europe, the traveling Ashkenazi. Those people got on well with their neighbours and between the three major religions there was peace because they shared so much. It was the Zionists who changed things.

Since taking this land at the cost of millions of Christian soldiers, the Rothschilds have continued to urge trouble through their faithful servants, the various thugs in power. We all know the story, no need to elaborate. The State of Israel was placed where it is to be the proverbial angry hornet beneath the saddleblanket for the surrounding Arabs. The people were easy to manipulate especially with all that Bolshevik mind manipulation and dumbing down in Israel. (You thought only America was dumbed down?)

Meanwhile Aliya continues and they urge all the Jews in the world to move to Israel, by hook or crook, including torching and bombing synagogues to scare their own people into moving there.

So yes, I think the Ashkenazi / Jews were chosen for their sweet personalities to create enough strife, to rouse a war.

They wish to bring the Christians and Muslims to the point of nuclear war. In the meantime, as far as the top power that be, take out as many Jews as possible in the meantime. Basically, that seems to be the plot as far as I can ascertain from things I have read over the years, not the least of which being Pike’s predictions in the 1800’s.

I would like to add something more and I feel this may be too far out to mention but……..there could be a division coming up with Jerusalem. It could be that to gain some peace over there you would see something like Berlin was after WWII. A division of thirds: 1/3 to Jews, 1/3 to Catholics and 1/3 to the Palinstines. (please excuse my spelling at times) Then also who ever wants this piece of the pie…like Glen Beck and the Mormons. Maybe they know something we don’t know as yet and they are planning these things.
