” I find it disgusting that a death sentence was put on Salman Rushdie’s head because he wrote a book critical of Islam.”

FIRST: Did you read the Satanic Verses?

Love, the question still stands. Do not run away, please!

:D ! I was unaware that Muslim countries did not allow the criticism of any and all religion?

Some people have little knowledge. Others are still victims of past indoctrination. How many of us has read the History of Muslims and Islam? I bet, not even a few, yet far too many pass judgement on what they know not!

Regarding Salman Rushdie's "Satanic Verses", would it be right to write a novel on the Holy Christian Bible and call it "The Satanic Verses", insulting the Holy Mother of Jesus, peace and blessings be upon both of them, calling Jesus a pedophile or a homosexual, or his sisters or wives (if he had any) whores, caling white women "bitches", Blacks "niggers", and so on?

The "Satanic Verses" was banned even in Apartheid South Africa and in Mauritius as well although we find LGBT women agents/associates of the Catholic Church in Mauritius demanding that abortion be legalised and lesbians, "gays" (that sad lot!), bi-sexuals and trans-sexuals be recognised as normal and legitimate, and even as a specific ethnic gropu with specific rights.

Regarding "Muslim countries", only fools can attack the Shari'a because of the behaviour of conquered Muslim countries by the Judeo-Christian Dark forces, and that have been living under their oppression and cultural terrorism for over a century.

Muslim History, whether in Mughal Hindustan or in Baghdad welcomed debates about religion in absolute freedom, but not freedom to blaspheme, to demonise. ISLAM INVITES OTHERS TO COME TO COMMON TERMS!

"In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful

A Common Word between Us and You

(Summary and Abridgement)

Muslims and Christians together make up well over half of the world’s population. Without peace and justice between these two religious communities, there can be no meaningful peace in the world. The future of the world depends on peace between Muslims and Christians.

The basis for this peace and understanding already exists. It is part of the very foundational principles of both faiths: love of the One God, and love of the neighbour. These principles are found over and over again in the sacred texts of Islam and Christianity. The Unity of God, the necessity of love for Him, and the necessity of love of the neighbour is thus the common ground between Islam and Christianity. The following are only a few examples:

Of God’s Unity, God says in the Holy Qur’an: Say: He is God, the One! / God, the Self-Sufficient Besought of all! (Al-Ikhlas, 112:1-2). Of the necessity of love for God, God says in the Holy Qur’an: So invoke the Name of thy Lord and devote thyself to Him with a complete devotion (Al-Muzzammil, 73:8). Of the necessity of love for the neighbour, the Prophet Muhammad said: “None of you has faith until you love for your neighbour what you love for yourself.”

In the New Testament, Jesus Christ said: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One. / And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. / And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:29-31)

In the Holy Qur’an, God Most High enjoins Muslims to issue the following call to Christians (and Jews—the People of the Scripture):

Say: O People of the Scripture! Come to a common word between us and you: that we shall worship none but God, and that we shall ascribe no partner unto Him, and that none of us shall take others for lords beside God. And if they turn away, then say: Bear witness that we are they who have surrendered (unto Him). (Aal ‘Imran 3:64)

The words: we shall ascribe no partner unto Him relate to the Unity of God, and the words: worship none but God, relate to being totally devoted to God. Hence they all relate to the First and Greatest Commandment. According to one of the oldest and most authoritative commentaries on the Holy Qur’an the words: that none of us shall take others for lords beside God, mean ‘that none of us should obey the other in disobedience to what God has commanded’. This relates to the Second Commandment because justice and freedom of religion are a crucial part of love of the neighbour.

Thus in obedience to the Holy Qur’an, we as Muslims invite Christians to come together with us on the basis of what is common to us, which is also what is most essential to our faith and practice: the Two Commandments of love."

Second, Islam does not belong to the East or the West there are western Muslims living in the west and Eastern Muslims living in the east.

@Pro -gentile, a thought provoking reply. Thanks.
@ Adalaberto, glad you liked the article :D!

@Ingrid, I remember an article I once read about a homeschooler who was asked about homeschooling and when he gave the answer regarding his experiences, his listener replied, "I could never do that!" Moreover, he continued to give a breakdown of the reasons why homeschooling could never be a solution for his family.
The point that was lost on him, however ,is that no one asked him to homeschool in the first place!

I mean are you sure that "freedom of speech" is not a jewish construct, especially the way it's portrayed as allowing any and all garbage?

That's the problem... people have taken jewish "values" as their own and defend it to the death.

The "French", who are espoused as having kicked off the whole "freedom of speech" thing, were anti-God jewish satanists aka freemasons. If you haven't noticed, God and religion have been attacked ever since. Check the back of a dollar bill... it says "novus ordo seclorum".. secular new world order. A world without God... if you haven't already been made aware, "science" is the new God... and Darwin is it's prophet.

So are you sure their values are your values?

Salman Rushdie is a british (read jewish) agent... https://duckduckgo.com/?q=salman+rushdie+british+agent .You know, those good folks who created wahhabism? Whose motto is Divide And Conquer? etc
