A coalition of U.S. church groups recently made public a letter which called upon the U.S. government to condition future military aid to Israel on its fulfillment of obligations under U.S. law. The statement was intended to express criticism of Israel’s use of U.S. weapons like cluster bombs in violation of our law and noted that U.S. military assistance provided Israel a buffer against undertaking any actions to advance a just and lasting peace. For example, its settlement policy, refusal to return to 1967 borders, and refusal to share Jerusalem, all directly contradict international law and stated U.S. policy.
Though these church groups have been critical of Israeli policy in the past, threatening to lobby for withholding military aid would really cut the Israel lobby to the quick, as it’s a position held by a number of anti-Zionist groups that are much farther to the left. The fact that mainline Christian denominations, who generally support liberal Zionist positions, would be moving in a more critical direction has to be deeply concerning to the lobby.
Though they refuse to consider or acknowledge it, such a development indicates a growing alienation of American churches from Israel and the draconian positions advanced by its government. The churches are willing to lose their interfaith dialogue with the Jewish community over such an issue, which indicates how seriously they take their opposition to the Netanyahu regime.
First to lash out in anger was (typically) Abe Foxman followed by one of Israel’s leading hasbara outfits, the Jewish Council for Public Affairs. It appears to be taking the lead in “handling” the BDS efforts of a number of the Christian denominations. As such, it’s a key player in Israel’s campaign against so-called “delegitimization.” Those guys at JCPA play hardball. Not content merely to criticize the churches, they lashed out at the “anti-Judaism” elements within their ranks. They used terms like “vicious anti-Zionism,” “relentless attacks on the Jewish state,” and “delegitimizers of Israel” to up the ante and level of vitriol. They also threatened to call out the Congressional dogs through mounting investigations of the groups themselves:
“JCPA is considering as a response asking Congress to investigate delegitimizers of Israel and to issue a resolution against their efforts.”
I’m not sure what this is supposed to gain the lobby. Do they think that parishioners will be mortified to find their particular denomination is called out by name in a Congressional resolution? Should these groups then call on their particular Congressional allies to respond tit for tat? Should we have a mini-religious war in the halls of Congress?
For anyone who still naively believes that J Street is a real force for progressive values regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, read M.J. Rosenberg’s devastating critique of their decision to join the Israel lobby coalition denouncing the churches. People like M.J. make the mistake (in my opinion) of calling J Street “Aipac lite.” I don’t think J Street’s allegiance is to Israel particularly. I think J Street is Obama’s Jewish wing. They are nothing more than a cover for him pursuing the Jewish vote. They never deviate from administration positions on any matter related to Israel. They attacked the Goldstone report, opposed Palestinian statehood at the UN, and now join with Israel lobby hysterics in railing against Christians for insisting that Israel obey U.S. law in its use of American weapons systems. In each of these positions they’ve betrayed progressive values, which is why they deserve support from no Jews who support a just resolution of the conflict.

Does anyone really doubt that the same kind of laws against “anti-Semitic” speech we see in much of Europe and elsewhere will not be soon finding its way here? As more and more Americans and American organizations come to realize the reality of the indefensible positions taken by organized Jewry, these people are going to resort to ever more oppressive measures to secure their “Jewish interests” and protect themselves from any kind of popular revolt against Jewish rule in the USA.
Just look at how far we have fallen over the past decade…the past few decades. Jewish power is now so overt, and its exercise of it so arrogant and anti-American, that even total control of the mass media is no longer sufficient to disguise it. I have no doubt that a backlash against Jewish power in this country is coming… I also have no doubt that when it comes organized Jewry will seek to crush it just as they sought to mobilize all of their power to crush Germany in the 1930′s and 40′s. Anyone who doubts that Jews would have any qualms about seeing the United States devastated and destroyed should consider that organized Jewry held approximately the same level of control and interest in the Germany of 1930. A great many Jews were German born. Yet when the NAZI party moved to crush their power, they did not hesitate to retaliate with a vengeance. We should remember this lesson from history that organized Jewry has no love or affinity for any gentile nation. They are international in nature and the national survival of any particular gentile people is only of consequence to them to the extent that they see the survival of such a people as serving Jewish interests

Many of these churches are finally reading the fine print. That moving toward Israel’s agenda and values are putting forth this nations laws and then control.. behind every system of law there is a god and it’s not theres. Lies are becoming the laws which will bring persecution.

The churches realized a line had been drawn in the sand.The churches had freedom as long as they did not do anything subversive to the state.

Everything in the universe cycles, and here we have history repeating itself. Yes, they enact hate speech laws to hide their criminal activity. They propagate political correctness to stop all justified criticism. They accuse others of just what they are guilty of doing. Yes, the power of the Jews is growing and they’re covering all the bases by stifling open discussion on the issues, enacting hate speech laws, intimidating free thinkers, and laying one big guilt trip on anyone willing to identify the Jews or Israel as being behind or the perpetrators of an injustice.

On a semi-related note, am I the only one who is getting a little tired of turning on the TV and seeing Jews (never being identified as such) being presented as “Americans” discussing the political or foreign policy situations (and thus attempting to create “public opinion”)?
An example the other night was the Bill Mahr show. On this panel were 4 Jews and a black woman….In a nation where Jews are less than 2% of the population, 4 of the 5 panelists in this political discussion (yes I know it’s supposed to be comedy, but it is in fact a political show aiming to influence public opinion) are Jewish? There was Bill Mahr (who for years attempted to hide his Jewish identity by repeatedly claiming to have been raised “catholic”, until he finally felt safe enough to publicly admit that his mother was Jewish). There was John Fund….well known Jewish pundit. Then there was a gentleman named Ephystein (sp?) who is Jewish and to round out the panel was Matt Taiibi a Jewish write for Rolling Stone (who does some good work by the way).
On this panel was a heated debate about the American political scene and the “debt crisis”…both sides of the debate being argued by Jews….and neither side venturing anywhere near the real nature of the “fiscal crisis” or its fundamental causes…which is Jewish usury and control of our monetary system.
I’m not saying that Mahr doesn’t have the right to have anyone on his show that he wishes. I’m not saying that Jewish voices shouldn’t be represented on these kinds of political discussion panels. But the fact that WASP Americans are almost completely shut out of these discussions is the elephant in the room. This phenomenon is not limited to talk shows or even to mass media in general. Look at the SCOTUS. In a nation founded by protestant Christians as a haven for Protestant Christians (yes Shirley, this is what they meant by “freedom of religion”, it was freedom from the Catholic and Anglican churches which were state religions in Europe at the time)., there is not a single WASP on the court. A third of the court (3 Justices) is Jewish….and plenty of Catholics (nothing against Catholics, I sent my daughter to Catholic school), but not a single protestant. Why? How? The how seems obvious enough…as does the why. The old WASP culture that dominated this nation for 150 years has been completely displaced to make way for Jewish power to come to the fore. This has occurred not just in politics, business, finance and the media but in the culture itself.
A complete list would be far too lengthy to place here, but an interesting exercise would be to watch cable news networks for a week….and every time you see a discussion panel concerning US foreign policy, economic policy or politics, write down the number and names of participants. Then do your homework and see who these people are and who they are associated with. What you will find will shock most people. The clear majority of the people you will see on these panels are Jewish. Of those who are not Jewish, an overwhelming majority will be either:
1. Married to a Jew
2. Gay
3. A member of a racial minority
or
4. Not a native born American.
But the most shocking thing you will see is that you will rarely, and I mean rarely, see a WHITE ANGLO PROTESTANT MAN on one of these panels (who does not fall into one of the 4 categories above)…and if you do, he will almost always be Christian-Zionist…or someone whose role on the show is to be held up as an object of ridicule.
I want to repeat this statistic one more time because it needs to be remembered….This country is still overwhelmingly WASP, at least demographically.
