You know what’s going on ? Turkey’s PM Erdogan and FM Davitoglu and their joint advisers realised a month ago that NATO USUK were ecstatic at the prospect of Turkish divisions – boots on the ground, and then some, pouring in across the border into Syria, overwhelming al Assad’s govt armed forces, thus obliging Iran to honour the mutual defence pact they had formed in 05 by openly sending in Divisions of their own armed forces to clash head on with a NATO member’s armed forces.

PM Netanyahu would have been ecstatic, as would Pres Obama ! Both their re elections would be assured, as they would be seen as astute strategists getting others to fight the ‘evil Iranians’ for them !

All that NATO USUK would then have to do is provide abundant material support and logistics and communications resources for the Turkish Divisions on the ground, which, true, they would unstintingly have done.

That way, by keeping out NATO US UK bombing air support, US Persian Gulf military assets would not be attacked by Iran.

All this manoeuvring by Sec State Clinton is to bow out of this mess they had created for themselves in the first place, as gracefully as possible, without too much egg on their collective face.

The failure of the 20 month long Syrian foray may be directly attributed to complete Russian and Chinese intransigence at the UNSC, this time blocking moves attempted by the other permanent members of the Council to authorise a No Fly Zone over Syria, essentially a repeat of UNSC Res 1973 of early 2011, which made possible – under the cover of NATO bombing, the virtually no casualties sustained by the ‘Al Qaeda’ mercenaries as they marauded and murdered their way through Libya, finally leading to the – for the camera, deliberate humiliatingly slow and bloody murder of Muammar Ghaddafi in full view of the world.
