Israeli Defense Minister Barak: Israel may Invade Syria, Seize Advanced Weapons

Israel is preparing for a possible military intervention in Syria in case the Syrian government hands missiles or chemical weapons to Hezbollah in Lebanon, Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on Friday.

“I have instructed the military to increase its intelligence preparations and prepare what is needed so that … (if necessary) … we will be able to consider carrying out an operation,” Barak said in an interview on Channel 10 television.

We are following … the possible transfer of advanced munitions systems, mainly anti-aircraft missiles or heavy ground-to-ground missiles, but there could also be a possibility of the transfer of chemical means (weapons) from Syria to Lebanon,” he added.

“The moment (Syrian President Bashar al-Assad) starts to fall we will conduct intelligence monitoring and will liaise with other agencies,” Barak said.

Hezbollah, which has in the past received military and financial support from Syria and Iran, launched thousands of mainly short-range rockets into Israel during Israel’s 2006 offensive in southern Lebanon, but some longer-range rockets reached central Israel.

Their border has largely remained quiet since then.

On Thursday, Barak toured the Golan Heights, a strategic plateau that Israel captured from Syria in the Middle East war in 1967 and from where it can monitor movements inside the territory of its northern foe.

Barak said Israeli troops were preparing to prevent an influx of refugees into territory that Israel controls there.

“They (refugees) have not chosen to come close to us, but in the event of the regime’s downfall, which could happen…, (Israeli forces) here are alert and ready, and if we have to stop waves of refugees, we will stop them,” Barak said.

Syrian rebels have assassinated four of Assad’s closest aides in Damascus and seized three border crossings with Iraq and Turkey this week, putting the Syrian leader under greater pressure than at any time in the 16-month uprising against his rule.

I agree with Sheikh Imran Hosein who said, “Israel is do or die for Israel.”

I wrote Time Is Running Out For The Israeli Empire
I used 2 videos from interviews Mark did with Alan Sabrosky about Israel doing 911.

When a sufficient number of Americans awaken to the truth about 911, Israel will be finished. The Israelis knew that when they declared war on the US on 911. That means Israel has a date certain for the demise of America or at least when it will become comatose and cease to function so as to pose no threat to Israel.

So the dwarf barak want to inavde syria so mainly anti-aircraft missiles don’t end up in the hands of hezbollah. Is that because you can’t kill innocent ppl en mass?

I hope Syria hands tons of chemical weapons to Hezbollah and they wipe Israel off the map. Can anyone say, “Peace on Earth?”

Look at all the American-made and American taxpayer paid for F-16’s in that picture.

“Squads of US F-16 and F-15 were classified military surplus and sold to Israel at a fraction of their value.” (A quote from Dov Zakheim was comptroller at the Pentagon from 2001 to 2004. Zakheim labeled perfectly good F-16’s as “surplus” and sold them to Israel. Israel likely bought them, at a fraction of their value, with US taxpayer money extorted from unwitting Americans by Jewish lobbies in Washington, DC.

Over three trillion dollars of Pentagon money is also unaccounted for during Zakheim’s tenure. The accounting records were stored in the area of the Pentagon where the missile…er…I mean jetliner smashed into.

Should dual-citizen and ardent Zionist Dov Zakheim even been allowed into the position of comptroller for the Pentagon?

Those cowardly Jews wouldn’t dare attack Syria, much less Iran. The US should just step aside and encourage them to do whatever they want, then sit back and do nothing. Let them go it alone. Let them suffer casualties, spend money and take the negative fallout alone.

They SO need their asses kicked!

The Zionist controlled US has many outposts globally. The parasitic entity being the most costly, and the most aggressive..

This is a Zionist ruse; it is precisely when a govt is on the point of losing a war that advanced weapons brought out of the armoury could tip the balance. So how is a govt on the brink facing imminent defeat saved by parking its most advanced weaponry on a friendly neighbour’s territory ? It isn’t.

In fact such a govt hastens its own defeat not only by transferring the advanced weapons to a safe haven across the border, but also by splitting off significant military resources for convoy escort duties when these should be directly engaging the assaulting mercenaries.

Additionally the very exposed convoy can be attacked from anywhere either side of the road or from IEDs the mercenaries will be provided with.

Would Hezbollah ever return the favour and restore the Bashar al Assad govt after its fall ? Obvious answer.

So, what is Ehud Barak up to ?

It is possible that his intel is that the mercenary assault is faltering, given the counter attacking Assad forces. Should the mercenaries be repelled then they might be driven out proving the people’s support for Assad, and then Israel’s hegemonic plans for the region will have been stopped for now.

This would mean that Barak is not toying with the idea of a direct Israeli intervention to seize the advanced weaponry, but is thinking of sending in Israeli forces to directly assist the mercenaries engaging Assad’s forces, and while there to try and prevent the deployment of the advanced weaponry without being concerned that an attempt will be made to transport it to the safekeeping of the Hezbollah in Lebanon, which it won’t be in any case.

Within the Reuters article itself are the usual lies about thousands of rockets having been fired from Lebanon in 2006.

Not a single rocket, short or longer range was fired by Hezbollah during that time. All the evidence shown on the nightly news over the 34 days of the assault in jul/aug06 of rocket attack damage in northern and central Israel was faked. All of it. I made a point of not missing any of it.

As there is close Israeli surveillance of all ground activity in Syria, Ehud Barak doesn’t need to say anything about the matter at all, for were the hypothetical escorted convoy of advanced weaponry to be crossing into Lebanon a IAF strike force would swoop down on them destroying them all, and absolutely no one in the whole world could or would do anything about it.

People should remember the Road to Basra in 1991 where the massive Iraqi convoy was attempting to get to Basra from Kuwait. All 2,000 vehicles and tens of thousands of totally defenseless people were murdered by US bombing and strafing in late February 1991.

Someone gave the order for that. Did the Germans do that too ?
