Rather than resign over allegations of sexual misconduct, Bob Filner to enter treatment for two weeks

San Diego Mayor Bob Filner announced he will undergo therapy amid calls for his resignation over allegations of sexual misconduct.
In a brief statement to reporters Friday, Filner said he would be entering a treatment facility on Aug. 5 for two weeks of intensive therapy.
“During this time period I will be in the clinic full-time, though every morning and evening I will be briefed on city activities,” Filner said.
The mayor, who is Jewish, has been the target of mounting accusations that he made unwanted sexual advances toward women, including inappropriate touching.
Irine McCormack Jackson, Filner’s former director of communications, filed a lawsuit against the mayor last week alleging he had frequently put her in a headlock, made sexual comments and once said she should work without her panties on. On Thursday, four more women made accusations that Filner had touched them inappropriately.
Filner has so far rebuffed calls for his resignation, including most recently from Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Florida congresswoman and chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, who said she was “personally offended by his actions.”
In his statement, Filner said his actions were “inexcusable” and issued public apologies to the women involved, the people of San Diego and members of his staff. He said treatment would continue even after he returned to work on Aug. 19.
“I must become a better person,” Filner said.
Filner was a congressman for 20 years before being elected mayor in November, the first Democrat to hold that office in two decades.

Asshole. Two weeks of therapy will change this predatory mindset and sense of entitlement to act in this manner? I think not. Psychopathic behavior , and these are the people no matter what we do can not eliminate from rulingover us. A coup has taken place on the government of the US and the only solution is to overthrow our corrupt government and knowing this makes me a terrorist and apparently a threat to national security. So where does one go from here?

What is really shocking is the fact that it is a male attracted to females.. That is becoming unheard of.
Females in the past were expected to repel inappropriate advances but with the sexual revolution many
became as aggressive as the men, at least in conversation. Not making excuses for this guy but look
at the attitudes of the females in the audience of a Jay Leno program when he is discussing sexual
encounters. Morality has become very loose and then somebody who is repulsive is shocked to find
his advances met with outrage. If this Mayor was pursueing another male, that would be just fine in todays world. People are nuts, period.

Yeah, I really to not think two weeks, or even two years, is gonna cure this guy.
He’s another Weiner; gets a bit of “power” and it goes to his head (no pun intended!)
But, like I said in the recent past, they are now FILLING THE SEATS which they used to only back. And this is what we get. America needs to get this figured out before we ARE an extension of the luntaic-state. Sadly, because we do not wish to be perceived as *Racist (sic), we’ll vote ’em in, repeatedly.
In my opinion, anyone who has ties and.or allegiance to ANY other nation or state MUST be found inelligible to run for ANY office in this country, and that includes mayor or governor or representative from districts of all states. The ONLY allegiance they MUST HOLD FIRM TO is to the USA. Or, we’re screwed.

To answer Edwards question who would vote for him? Look at what they offered for the alternative candidate, in out allegedly party neutral City elections. It could be the lesser of the two evils once more. I abstain.
The story is missing the three democrats that are standing by their mayor,,, and can Yew guess what they have in common besides being democrats? Yew guessed it right, I can sense it. They may pretend to be catholics etc, but they can’t change the ghetto inside them. This filner is the typical tyrant in office. It better not be the cities tax dollars going to his victims.

It’s sick, twisted and perverted. Yes I too was surprised this freak Filner wasn’t going after young boys.
